Greece’s National Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Organization (EODASAAM) has announced that it will release its findings on the Tempe accident on Thursday at the offices of the Journalists’ Union of Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA).

According to public broadcaster ERT, the report will then be sent to judicial authorities to be included in the case file.

The report will examine the causes of the accident, the state of the railway system and the factors behind the explosion that followed the train collision.

Earlier, a request from a lawyer representing some of the victims’ families to postpone the report’s announcement was rejected by EODASAAM’s president.

Additional reports are also expected, including one from an National Technical University of Athens professor regarding the cause of the fire and another from the police analyzing surveillance video footage reportedly depicting the freight train.
