A shocking turn of events has unfolded in the case of 58-year-old Kostas Siamitras, who was reported missing in Leptokarya, Pieria.
His 34-year-old partner, who had made an emotional public appeal for his whereabouts on the popular Greek investigative show Light at the Tunnel, has now confessed to his murder.
A Heartbreaking Disappearance Turns into a Murder Investigation
For weeks, the case of Kostas Siamitras’ disappearance puzzled authorities and the public alike. His partner, Gianna, had appeared on Light at the Tunnel, expressing distress and concern over his sudden vanishing. However, after intense questioning, she admitted to killing him and burying his body in the backyard of their home.
According to her statement, the couple had a heated argument that escalated, leading her to push him. Siamitras fell, suffered a fatal injury, and died. Initially, she attempted to cover up the crime, maintaining the facade of a grieving partner desperate for answers.
The Television Appeal That Raised Suspicions
During her televised plea, the 34-year-old woman claimed she had no problems with her partner and that she had always been by his side, especially as he struggled with health issues.
“I have been in Greece since 2002. I knew Kostas since I was young, as he owned a motorbike shop near my home. We got together eight years ago, and three years ago we had a son,” she said on Light at the Tunnel. “Whenever Kostas had health problems, I was there for him. Lately, he was always on oxygen, but he remained active.”
She recounted that on the day of his disappearance, everything seemed normal but sensed that something was troubling him. She claimed she had gone shopping, and upon returning, he asked her to take their child and leave for Larissa. According to her initial statements, when she came back, he was gone.
Inconsistencies and Doubts
Despite her emotional statements, inconsistencies in her account soon emerged. A witness disclosed that the couple had frequent and intense arguments, with the victim even confiding fears for his life. Shortly before his disappearance, he reportedly told a trusted friend that his partner had threatened him with a knife.
“She was lying for a whole week, claiming Kostas disappeared on Monday when in reality it was Sunday,” a source close to the investigation revealed. “She changed her version of events multiple times.
