Firebomb Attack Targets Thanos Plevris’ Political Office in Athens – Greek City Times

An arson attack targeted the political office of Greek Minister Thanos Plevris in the Kolonaki district of Athens early on Sunday morning.

The attack occurred at approximately 2:15 am, with the minister later commenting on the incident in a post on social media.

Footage of the incident was shared by Plevris on X.

The circumstances surrounding the attack and the individuals responsible were not specified in the initial report.

In his social media post, Plevris described the unknown perpetrators as “scum,” and added: “I scare them, they don’t scare me.”The governing New Democracy party denounced Sunday’s arson attack as a “fascist act” and urged opposition parties to join in condemning the incident.

Greece’s conservative government has taken a hard stance against undocumented migrants, and is in negotiations with another four European Union members to open deportation centers outside the 27-member bloc for people whose asylum bids are rejected.
