400 Career Wins for Tsitsipas in Shanghai Masters Victory

SHANGHAI, October 2026 — Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Italy’s Luciano Darderi 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday to reach the Shanghai Masters third round and bring up 400 career wins on the ATP Tour.

Tsitsipas took the first set in 39 minutes after breaking Darderi’s serve in the second game. He then broke again in the second set and closed out the match 6-4 after 38 more minutes.

The milestone puts the Greek in select company. Only eight other active players have 400 career wins: Novak Djokovic, Marin Cilic, Stan Wawrinka, Gael Monfils, Alexander Zverev, Grigor Dimitrov, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev.

Reaching 400 career wins also lifts Tsitsipas to No 39, according to the ATP live rankings.

As a result, he edges closer to his main goal for the season. Tsitsipas wants to finish the year ranked high enough to be among the top 32 players at the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of 2027, in Melbourne in January.

Shanghai third round

Next up is American Taylor Fritz, No 12 in the live rankings. Fritz beat Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi 7-5, 6-4 in the second round.

Tsitsipas beat Fritz 6-4, 7-5 in their United Cup quarter-final in January.

Earlier in the week, Tsitsipas beat Belgian Kimmer Coppejans 6-3, 7-5 in 76 minutes to open his campaign. Greek City Times reported that match on Thursday.

Darderi had received a bye through the first round. The pair also met last year in Halle, Germany, where Tsitsipas won in three sets.

A season of recovery

His path to 400 career wins follows a rise in the rankings for the 28-year-old since late June. At that point he had dropped to No 87, his lowest ranking since January 2018.

Later, in July, Tsitsipas ended a 16-month title drought at the Swiss Open in Gstaad.

Valentin Vacherot, 27, of Monaco, is the defending champion at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament.
