Michelin has published its 2026 hotel Keys. The global list now holds 2,832 Key hotels: 155 Three Keys, 657 Two Keys and 2,020 One Keys. Eighteen hotels receive Three Keys for the first time.
Greece has 74 Key hotels and about 200 more in the wider Selection. Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens is the only Greek hotel with Three Keys. It also ranks 27th on the 2026 World’s 50 Best Hotels list.
Three Keys, Michelin says, mark one of the world’s most remarkable stays.
New Three Keys around the world
Michelin added 18 Three Key hotels this year: six in Asia, eight in Europe, two in Oceania, one in Africa and one in the Americas.
Only two properties entered the guide already on Three Keys:
- Airelles Palladio, Venice — also Michelin’s Opening of the Year. Four heritage buildings on Giudecca, opposite St Mark’s, with Venice’s largest spa, three pools and restaurants from Nobu Matsuhisa, Norbert Niederkofler and Cédric Grolet.
- Soneva Secret, Maldives
Europe’s other new Three Keys are promotions from Two Keys:
- Italy: Collegio alla Querce, Florence; Borgo Santandrea, Amalfi Coast; Splendido, Portofino
- France: Château de la Chèvre d’Or, Èze; Le Couvent des Minimes
- Switzerland: Beau-Rivage Palace, Lake Geneva; Kulm Hotel, St Moritz
Elsewhere Michelin highlights Southern Ocean Lodge, Australia, and Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Costa Rica, on the Papagayo Peninsula. Atlantis The Royal, Dubai, remains the UAE’s only Three Key hotel.
France and Italy lead Europe with about 220 Keys each. Europe as a whole now has 1,338 Key hotels.

Hotel Grande Bretagne, Athens; THE DOLLI at Acropolis, Athens; Aristi Mountain Resort, Zagori; Eliamos Villas, Kefalonia; Amanzoe, Peloponnese; Kinsterna, Monemvasia; Tainaron Blue Retreat, Mani; Grace Hotel, Santorini; Aristide Hotel, Syros.
Greece: One Key
The remaining 63 One Key hotels stretch from Athens and Thessaloniki to Crete, the Cyclades, the Ionian islands, the Peloponnese, Rhodes, Kos, Zagori and Lake Plastiras — including One&Only Aesthesis, Xenodocheio Milos, Kalesma Mykonos, Katikies Santorini, Euphoria Retreat at Mystras and Porto Zante on Zakynthos.
Astir Palace now sits in the same Three Key band as Venice’s new Airelles Palladio and the Maldives’ Soneva Secret — a short Greek list at the very top, and a much longer one just below.
