The fragmentation and uncertainty about building regulations create absurd situations that expose the state.
Parliament has suddenly voted an amendment to suspend permits on the island of Milos and until it is published in the Government Gazette, dozens of building permits will be issued – all temporary, all tentative.
As long as this patchwork regime of laws is maintained, as long as clear and permanent urban plans are not established, “economic development” will never fully materialize. It will be unbalanced and arbitrary.
