Police summoned to a central Athens apartment over a domestic dispute have stumbled upon dozens of stolen electric motorbikes and bicycles, e-scooters and electronic devices, and arrested seven suspected thieves.
A police statement said the suspects, all foreign nationals aged 24-50, were taken into custody Thursday in the Aghios Panteleimon district of the capital.
The arrests came after officers visited the flat in response to a complaint about a disturbance. The statement said the apartment was used by the gang of thieves to stash and dismantle their loot, with a view to selling the bits for spare parts.
Police confiscated nine electric motorbikes, 24 e-scooters, 15 bicycles, one e-bike and numbers of televisions, laptops, tablets and mobile phones.
The suspects also faced charges for illegally hooking up to and using the power and water networks.
