The creation of LNG facilities for ships, the full integration of the railway network into the port infrastructure and the separation of the freight from the passenger sector are the central points of the Patra Port Authority planning.
The Presidential Decree published concerns the master plan, the technical specifications and land uses that allow the start of the planned infrastructure projects.
The plan provides for the south port’s transformation into a freight and energy center.
The north port is assigned to urban and tourism uses, with the construction of a marina and the management of ferry traffic to Italy and the Ionian Sea.
