Greek Police are searching for two suspects in connection with a violent attack on a kiosk employee during an armed robbery in the district of Exarchia, in downtown Athens, on Monday.

The victim, a 50-year-old Bangladeshi national, underwent surgery for his injuries on his leg and his condition was described as stable on Tuesday, according to state-run broadcaster ERT.

The incident took place before 7 pm on Monday, at the intersection of Alexandra Avenue and Ippokratous Street, when two men tried to rob the kiosk.

The employee tried to stop them by stepping outside the kiosk and was stabbed in the leg.
