Fuel Pass is on

The government launched on Monday its Fuel Pass III subsidy platform, at vouchers.gov.gr, aimed at easing the burden of soaring energy prices for households and drivers.

Payments will be made within 48 hours of application and approval. Under the scheme, eligible car owners will receive €50, rising to €60 for island residents, while motorcycle owners will get €30, or €35 on islands.

The measure applies to individuals, including self-employed professionals, with a declared annual income of up to €25,000 for single applicants and €35,000 for married couples. The threshold increases by €5,000 for each dependent child. Authorities estimate the criteria will cover about 75% of drivers.

The subsidy is granted to all qualifying passenger car owners, including those using diesel vehicles, who will also benefit from an existing 20-cent/liter diesel subsidy. Based on official data on average fuel consumption nationwide, the €50 Fuel Pass is equivalent to a subsidy of roughly €0.36 per liter, the government said.
