Social investment plan by Hellas Gold

Hellas Gold, the Greek subsidiary of Canada’s Eldorado Gold, on Tuesday made public an account of its social responsibility investment program last year, saying it included 130 projects and actions of a social nature with a total value of 2.47 million euros.

“Continuing to invest in a responsible and multi-beneficial mining activity for the region of northeastern Halkidiki, the company completed its social investment plan for 2024. This is an action plan that catalytically strengthens the company’s area of activity, as 90% of the investments, namely €2.2 million, were invested exclusively in projects and actions within the boundaries of the local municipality.”

It added that those investments are part of Hellas Gold’s emblematic social investment program of €80 million, which extends over a period of 25 years.

The plan’s implementation strategy is based on specific pillars that have emerged following consultation with the local community, so that their use is governed by transparency and, above all, responds to the needs and expectations of social partners, Hellas Gold noted in a press release.
