Hotel fee. The imposition of an additional ‘local sustainable development fee’ on hotels by the Municipality of Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni has provoked major protests by hoteliers. The levy, which amounts to 1.5% of local hotels’ turnover, has led hoteliers to take recourse to the Decentralized Authority of Attica and, possibly, later to the Council of State.
The balance of travel services posted a surplus of 149.9 million euros in December 2024 and of €18.92 billion in the year 2024.
