Bank of Greece Governor Yannis Stournaras on Thursday expressed his concerns about the growth prospects of the eurozone to the ambassadors of the EU member-states in Athens, as a 10% US tariff on all imports from the eurozone, combined with higher uncertainty regarding future US-EU trade relations, could reduce the growth rate of the eurozone’s GDP by up to a half a percentage point in a year. At the same time, he estimated that by the end of the year the ECB’s key interest rate could fall to 2%.
