A man was arrested in Chania on Thursday night for offenses related to weapons and domestic violence, as police seized an arsenal that included more than 3,200 rounds of ammunition and nine firearms.
The arrest occurred in the Municipality of Platanias during an investigation led by officers from the Domestic Violence Unit of the Chania Police. Authorities launched the operation after receiving a report for domestic violence, prompting a search of the suspect’s residence.
During the search, officers uncovered a significant cache of weaponry, including 3,261 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, four hunting rifles, and five air guns.
