Tourism receipts topped 21 bln euros in January-November 2024

Tourism takings in Greece exceeded 21 billion euros in the first 11 months of 2024, having already broken the 2023 record a month earlier, according to data the Bank of Greece released on Monday.

Specifically, in November, tourism receipts in the country reached €617.9 million, compared to €426.9 million in the same month of 2023, bringing the total for the January-November 2024 period to €21.266 billion.

In December Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni had predicted Greek tourism takings throughout 2024 would amount to some €22 billion.

Over the first 11 months of 2023, tourism receipts had reached about €20.27 billion, so there was an annual increase of 4.9% in the January-November 2024 period.
