Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is to meet with President Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Monday, four days after he announced he would be not nominating her for a second term.
Last week, Mitsotakis instead proposed Parliament Speaker and New Democracy MP Konstantinos Tasoulas for the country’s top office.
Monday’s meeting is expected to take place around noon, before the swearing-in of the new deputy foreign minister, Tassos Hadjivassiliou. The meeting was originally scheduled for January 15, when Mitsotakis announced his preferred candidate, but was postponed.
