A Greek army colonel was arrested Tuesday by the cybercrime division for alleged possession of child pornography.
According to a report by local TV station Mega, the colonel, aged 55, was found to have thousands of child pornography files in his possession.
The officer was arrested at his home in Athens and has so far been charged with possession of the material.
Authorities are investigating whether he was involved in trafficking the content.
He is expected to face a military court.
