Greek police arrest 11 in Turkish mafia crackdown

A police operation targeting the Turkish mafia took place on Friday in Athens and Thessaloniki, leading to the arrest of 11 individuals.

According to the Organized Crime Control Directorate, the operation aimed at dismantling criminal gangs resulted in the capture of 10 Turks and one Lebanese national.

The arrested individuals face charges related to violation of laws on weapons and drugs. 

On December 11 last year, a major police operation took place in apartments across Athens and Thessaloniki following a double murder in Glyfada. At that time, at least eight people were arrested, and 49 weapons were seized.
