Air China is significantly reducing its seat availability for its scheduled service between Beijing and Athens next year, with fewer flights per week in April-June and a smaller type of aircraft, according to a recent announcement by China’s flag carrier.
In 2024 Air China has used the 312-seater A350-941 aircraft for its Athens-Beijing service. It is now switching to Airbus A330-300 aircraft with 301 seats that it had also used in 2023.
Between April 1 and July 1, 2025 it will only fly three times per week each way, down from five times per week in its previous schedule, threby scaling back onits capacity in response to the passenger demand levels recorded.
There is also another airline, Juneyao Airlines, linking Athens directly with China, from its hub in Shanghai.
