Firefighters have discovered the body of an elderly man while battling a fire at a house in Kavala, northern Greece.
The fire service reported that the blaze started around 4 a.m. on Friday at a residence in the city’s Chorafa neighborhood.
Firefighters found the deceased man and a woman, who was taken to the hospital. Details regarding her condition are currently unavailable.
A total of ten firefighters and three fire engines responded to the scene.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
