Prolific Greens win 4-0 and qualify in the Conference League

Panathinaikos produced a stunning game against Dinamo Minsk on Thursday and won 4-0 at the Olympic Stadium of Athens to qualify to the Conference League playoffs.

The Athens giant had a scoring problem until Thursday, with an average of just one goal per game in the Super League, but in this game it was utterly prolific.

Dinamo was no pushover – the team from Belarus also had its chances, but Panathinaikos was unstoppable on the night, in front of some 35,000 of its fans.

Just after the half-hour mark the Greens opened the score, as Azzedine Ounahi fed Giannis Kotsiras on the right flank and he crossed the ball into the box for Alexander Jeremejeff to find the back of the net with a decent flick.

Ounahi was also involved in the second goal, as he produced a clever through-ball on the 54th minute to Tete, and the Brazilian slotted the ball home with style.

Tete, Ounahi and Jeremejeff combined again 10 minutes later for the Brazilian to score his second on the night and third for Panathinaikos.

Tete had a penalty saved by Fedor Lapoukhov on the 83rd, having a hat trick denied, but half a minute later Greece striker Fotis Ioannidis scored the best goal of the night, as he stole the ball with an ankle flick and then produced an arching lob over the Dinamo keeper, putting the icing on the cake.

The draw for the home-and-away knock-out playoffs will take place on Friday.
