Rhodes: Teenager injured in head by air gun

A 19-year-old man on Rhodes is facing charges of bodily harm, as well as illegal possession and use of a weapon, after he fired an air gun at a 17-year-old man, injuring him in the head.

The 17 year old told police that last month, when he was in a city park, the 19 year old began targeting him with the air gun, firing it three times.

The first two shots missed him, but the third hit him in the head and he began to bleed.

He later attended a local hospital, where he received first aid and was sent home.

After he continued to feel unwell, his family took him to a hospital in Iraklio, Crete, where doctors found he had a metal projectile lodged in his head and performed surgery to remove it.

When the hospital informed police on Rhodes about the discovery of the projectile in the man’s head, police searched the 19 year old’s home and found the air gun, 500 metal projectiles and a replica firearm.
