Zografeion Lyceon in Constantinople celebrates Apostle Andrew

A grand musical event was organized at the historic Zografeion Lyceum of Constantinople, in memory of Apostle Andrew of Asia Minor, the founder of the church of Constantinople, on the occasion of the Thronal Feast Day of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

The event, held on November 30th under the auspices of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, was a co-production of the Zografeion Lyceum of Constantinople, the Central Union of Greek Municipalities (KEDE) and the Regional Union of Municipalities of Central Macedonia.

The program showcased Byzantine hymns and traditional songs, performed by “Hydymelon” byzantine choir, cultural and folklore groups and a traditional orchestra, under the artistic direction of Ioannis Tsamis.

This year, the Zografeion celebrated 131 years since its founding, honoring alumni who graduated 60 years ago as well as more recent graduates.
