Greek police seized firearms and explosives during a search of a storage unit in the central Athens neighborhood of Pangrati late Tuesday.
According to reports, earlier that day, a private citizen alerted authorities after discovering a stockpile of weaponry in a storage unit he owned but had not visited for an extended period. Police bomb disposal experts and officers from the Counter-Terrorism Unit were promptly dispatched to the intersection of Damagitou and Aglavridon Streets.
Police sources reported that digital evidence was also recovered from the site.
The area was secured, and the seized items were transported to the forensic laboratories of the Hellenic Police for further examination.
The Counter-Terrorism Unit has taken charge of the preliminary investigation into the case.
