Three days after a shocking traffic incident in Kolonaki, Alexandra Nika, wife of renowned singer Konstantinos Argyros, has broken her silence.
On Sunday night, February 9, Nika was struck by a luxury Bentley while walking with her 2.5-month-old son on a main street in Kolonaki.
In her first public statement, shared on Wednesday, February 12, Nika expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support she received and reflected on the fragility of life.
A Message of Awareness and Gratitude
“Regarding last Sunday’s accident, which could have had a tragic outcome for both me and, more importantly, my child, I want to sincerely thank everyone who expressed concern and sent messages of love and support,” Nika wrote. She also extended her appreciation to those who came to her aid at the scene.
“This incident made me realise how easily everything we take for granted—safety, health, life itself—can change in an instant. One moment of carelessness is enough to turn our world upside down.”
A Plea for Road Safety and Awareness
Nika also used the moment to advocate for greater road safety, urging both authorities and individuals to take responsibility.
“We must all take care of ourselves and those around us. The lack of education and empathy on the roads is evident, and it is up to each of us to work towards safer streets—with respect for pedestrians and cyclists,” she wrote.
Her statement has sparked public discussion on road safety in Greece, a recurring issue in urban areas like Athens. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers pedestrians face and the urgent need for better traffic regulation and awareness.
