Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to meet with President Katerina Sakellaropoulou at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday to inform her of the individual he intends to nominate for the Greek presidency
According to government sources, after briefing Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the Prime Minister will be prepared to publicly announce his decision regarding the next head of state “at any moment.”
The announcement is expected to take place either later on Wednesday or by Thursday at the latest. Officials stress that the matter “should not linger in public discourse” and must be resolved promptly.
Mitsotakis will deliver his announcement through a prerecorded address to the Greek people, where he will reveal the candidate’s name and explain the rationale behind his selection.
