The state is launching three programs for subsidizing energy and functional upgrades or renovations for homes, estimated to come to a total of 1 billion euros.
The goal is to achieve upgrades for approximately 50,000-60,000 homes across Greece, utilizing European and national resources, as well as the Recovery and Resilience Fund. Together with the funds of the private sector and banks, it is estimated that over €1.5 billion will enter the market.
The online platform for submitting funding applications for those interested in the next cycle of “Exoikonomo,” amounting to €434 million, will open from January 8 until March 20. The program includes separate incentives to support families with disabled members, flood victims in Thessaly, earthquake victims of Arkalochori in Crete, families with four or more dependent children and vulnerable households, both in the form of an increased percentage of grants and a special budget.
The maximum eligible budget for energy upgrades with VAT per beneficiary application cannot exceed €35,000.
The “Anavathmizo to Spiti Mou” (I upgrade my home), program will also begin within in a month, amounting to €400 million, of which €300 million come from the RRF and the other €100 million from subsidized bank funds.
This is a loan for energy upgrading of homes and concerns all residences, main or secondary. Thermal insulation, green roofs, replacement of window frames, solar water heater, heating-cooling systems, installation of photovoltaic plants, small wind turbines and other renewable energy sources, as well as the labor are all eligible for financing. The maximum amount each interested party can claim will range from €5,000 to €25,000.
Also, the improved version of the renovation subsidy program “Anakainizo-Noikiazo” (I Renovate – I Rent) is also running during this period.
This is a program of €50 million, aimed at those who have an empty property, with a surface area of up to 100 square meters, and wish to utilize it, but cannot due to the need for repair work.
