Unknown individuals vandalized public restrooms located along Thessaloniki’s New Waterfront, causing extensive damage to the facilities.
The perpetrators left behind shattered mirrors, broken sinks, tiles and overturned bins.
In a statement, the City of Thessaloniki announced that a police report had been filed against unknown assailants for the damage. “The images of total destruction, which have led to the suspension of the area’s operation, are deeply offensive and infuriating, especially since this is not the first such incident,” it said.
These restrooms had previously been vandalized last April, shortly after the completion of restoration work, just before the renovated area was handed over to the contractor responsible for operating 10 public restrooms in central Thessaloniki and Ano Poli.
