Electricity providers are on the verge of penetrating the market for the energy upgrading of buildings, using electricity bills as a vehicle and ‘on-bill financing’ as a tool.
This is the new tool for funding building energy upgrade actions and repayment in installments that has been included by the Ministry of Environment and Energy in the “Roadmap for energy saving in buildings.”
It is meant to remove financial obstacles and facilitate the achievement of national goals for the “greening” of the country’s buildings, the most energy-intensive sector of the Greek economy, representing 40% of final energy consumption.
