One of the most ambitious reforms in the social policy field is taking place under the technological and administrative supervision of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), with the National Economy and Finance Ministry promoting the creation of the National Benefits Registry, a single digital platform to gather all benefits and subsidies citizens receive.
The project aspires to put an end to a fragmented and often inefficient system, where different bodies grant benefits with different criteria and without any substantial interconnection between them.
According to the plan, at the end of 2026, for the first time, the state will obtain a complete picture of the amount, type and frequency of the subsidies paid, through a “digital benefits profile” for each beneficiary, to record income, property and family data, as well as all payments made.
During the pilot operation, the group will contribute to addressing regulatory and operational issues, with particular emphasis on coordination between involved bodies, such as AADE and other participating organizations. After the pilot phase, the group will undertake the processing of the conclusions that emerged and the preparation of proposals for possible interventions.
