Unidentified attackers vandalized the main entrance of the Athens Administrative Court of Appeals late Saturday, smashing glass panels with sledgehammers and throwing paint.
In a statement, the court “unequivocally condemns the attack” by a group of masked individuals, adding that while no injuries were reported, the damage was significant.
“The attack constitutes a direct affront to justice and the institutions of the rule of law,” the statement said. It added that such actions “do not intimidate or suspend the work of justice,” which continues independently.
Authorities are investigating the incident and working to identify the perpetrators. Court officials said they are cooperating with police, while calling on the public to respect democratic institutions and reject acts of violence.
