Four people have been arrested for allegedly growing and trafficking marijuana in the northwestern town of Ioannina, police said Saturday.
A police statement said the operation followed a tip-off about a 37-year-old man dealing in the drug. The suspect was arrested and a small quantity of cannabis found on his person.
Police consequently arrested a 39-year-old man who had allegedly provided the drugs, and a search of his and his neighbors’ homes late Friday revealed 22 cannabis plants growing indoors and outdoors, growth lamps and other equipment, more than 1.5 kilograms of marijuana, precision scales and €8,700 in cash.
All were confiscated.
