Four masked intruders broke into a home in Thiva, northwest of Athens, early Monday, threatening a 56-year-old woman and her 27-year-old son at gunpoint before binding them and making off with jewelry and cash valued at more than €150,000.

The robbery occurred shortly after 5.30 a.m., moments after the family’s father left for his fuel station outside the city.

Investigators believe the suspects had been surveilling the property and exploited his absence, forcing entry with their faces concealed beneath full-face masks

The intruders restrained both victims with a screwdriver and a firearm, then systematically searched the residence for 20 to 30 minutes before fleeing.
