Konstantopoulou to face criminal charges over Tempe trial recordings

Criminal proceedings will be initiated against lawyer and Course of Freedom leader Zoe Konstantopoulou over the videotaping of a police officer during Wednesday’s Tempe railway disaster trial in Larissa, Justice Minister Giorgos Floridis has said.

The footage was later published on social media.

In a radio interview, Floridis said Konstantopoulou “played the leading role in criminal acts,” arguing that filming a police officer against her will and posting the video online constitutes a felony.

He added that Konstantopoulou would also face charges for “the criminal act of videotaping a judge in Larissa” during a separate trial concerning Tempe train footage, and for “publishing it on social networks.”

Konstantopoulou is leader of the Course of Freedom and represents families of victims in proceedings related to the 2023 Tempe rail disaster.
