Just a minute later, a second tremor of the same magnitude was recorded with the same epicentre, at a distance of 229 km southeast of Athens.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the seismic activity, the Municipality of Amorgos has been placed under a state of emergency, a decision made by the Secretary General of Civil Protection, Vassilis Papageorgiou. This emergency status will remain in effect until March 11.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting that the Municipality of Santorini had already been placed under a state of emergency due to previous seismic concerns.
