Dozens of cities across Greece witnessed mass rallies today as students, pupils, and teachers demanded justice for the tragic train collision in Tempi.<\/h2>\n
In Athens, thousands gathered at the Propylaea, chanting slogans like \u201cThe crime in Tempi will not be forgotten, will not be covered up!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hear that it was the fault of people who got on the wrong train at the wrong time. They don\u2019t say they messed up the crime scene,\u201d said Vasiliki from the civil engineering student union, emphasising the need to hold those truly responsible accountable.<\/p>\n
Protests Nationwide<\/strong><\/p>\n Similar mobilisations took place in cities across the country, from Thessaloniki and Patras to Serres, Kozani, and Florina. Students carried white balloons with messages like \u201cSend me when you arrive,\u201d \u201cI have no oxygen,\u201d and \u201cThe thirst for profits is making new Tempis.\u201d<\/p>\n In Thessaloniki, students held a banner stating, \u201cAs long as you deprive us of oxygen, our struggle will give breath for life. This crime will not be covered up.\u201d<\/p>\n The rallies, which included students, pupils, and members of various organisations, called for justice and condemned the government\u2019s alleged attempts to cover up the true extent of the tragedy.<\/p>\n Remembering the Victims<\/strong><\/p>\n In Patras, students poignantly wrote the names of the victims of the Tempi tragedy in red paint in George Square.<\/p>\n The nationwide protests underscore the growing public anger and demand for accountability in the wake of this devastating event.
