{"id":22700,"date":"2026-10-01T12:25:24","date_gmt":"2026-10-01T12:25:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/in-greece.com\/index.php\/2026\/10\/01\/sia-sells-50-of-music-catalogue-for-180-million-greek-city-times\/"},"modified":"2026-10-01T12:25:24","modified_gmt":"2026-10-01T12:25:24","slug":"sia-sells-50-of-music-catalogue-for-180-million-greek-city-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in-greece.com\/index.php\/2026\/10\/01\/sia-sells-50-of-music-catalogue-for-180-million-greek-city-times\/","title":{"rendered":"Sia sells 50% of music catalogue for $180 million \u2013 Greek City Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-first=\"S\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Australian singer and songwriter <strong>Sia<\/strong> has reportedly sold a 50% stake in her music catalogue for <strong>$180 million<\/strong>, in a major deal with Swedish music investment company Pophouse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to TMZ, the agreement covers royalties from her record label, as well as publishing rights and original recordings connected to her music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deal comes as Sia continues divorce proceedings with Dan Bernard, with documents reportedly detailing how the proceeds from the sale will be treated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of the $180 million deal, <strong>$165 million relates to songs Sia wrote before her marriage<\/strong>, including some of her biggest hits such as <em>Chandelier<\/em> and <em>Cheap Thrills<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to documents cited by TMZ, Bernard has agreed to waive any claim to that $165 million in exchange for <strong>$1 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The remaining <strong>$15 million<\/strong> relates to songs created during the couple\u2019s marriage. That amount is reportedly being held in a separate account while the former couple works through any potential dispute.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-pophouse-deal-includes-sia-music-and-digital-project\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pophouse deal includes Sia music and digital project<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement with Pophouse reportedly covers Sia\u2019s publishing rights and original recordings but does not include commercial use of her name or image.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The partnership will also involve the development of an <strong>interactive digital production featuring an avatar based on Sia\u2019s music<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Rolling Stone<\/em> has reported that an official announcement of the deal is expected soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sia and Bernard married in 2023.
