London\u2019s Leicester Square Gardens became the centre of the film world on Tuesday as it hosted the world premiere of Digger, the black comedy directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Alejandro Gonz\u00e1lez I\u00f1\u00e1rritu and starring Tom Cruise.<\/h3>\n

The premiere took place as part of the Royal Film Performance, with Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, attending the event, according to Deadline<\/em>. Proceeds from the evening will support the UK-based Film and TV Charity, which provides assistance to people working in the film and television industries.<\/p>\n

Cruise arrived well ahead of the screening in a tuxedo and sunglasses. He posed in front of the film\u2019s specially constructed backdrop and spoke with members of the crowd.<\/p>\n

When the royal couple arrived, I\u00f1\u00e1rritu accompanied Prince William, while Cruise escorted Catherine, Princess of Wales, and introduced them to other members of the cast.<\/p>\n

Among the cast members attending the premiere were Sandra H\u00fcller, Jesse Plemons, Riz Ahmed, John Goodman and Michael Stuhlbarg.<\/p>\n
