Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said this week that no government is ready for what artificial intelligence is about to do.<\/h2>\n

On a California stop that included NVIDIA <\/a>and Sequoia Capital, he dropped the usual investment pitch long enough to talk about speed. Job losses from AI, he said, will arrive faster than any capital or society has planned for. \u201cThis is something that will happen. No government and no society is prepared for the speed at which it will happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also flagged effects on children, teenagers and schools. A social summary of the interview put it as fighting yesterday\u2019s battle. The fuller Greek readout of the same remarks centres on jobs and the pace of change.<\/p>\n

Mitsotakis still sold Greece\u2019s digital build-out. At NVIDIA he met John Josephakis and other executives on computing investment and AI adoption. He toured the chip research centre. At Sequoia, Konstantine Buhler and Doug Leone hosted investors and founders working on health, education, automation and robotics.<\/p>\n

He said Microsoft\u2019s Athens data-centre project drew little public pushback and that Greece has not seen a serious anti\u2013data-centre revolt. The hard question, in his telling, is labour, not the buildings.<\/p>\n

Greece, he added on the same trip, sits inside EU AI rules and cannot write a wholly separate code. The fight over how to regulate the technology, he said, will be decided in the United States.<\/p>\n
