The trip is designed so participants can see how Greek kiwis are grown, harvested, sorted, stored and prepared for export, and how European food-safety and quality systems work in practice.<\/p>\n
India is an important market for kiwi fruit. Official figures put annual kiwi imports at about 49,000 tonnes, worth more than USD 61 million. The visit gives Indian professionals a first-hand look at the production system behind fruit already arriving in that market, and it gives Greek producers a clearer picture of Indian buyer requirements, consumer preferences and distribution needs.<\/p>\n
European fruit production puts heavy weight on food safety, traceability and quality at every stage of the chain. Meetings with growers and visits to production and packing sites will cover cultivation, harvest, sorting, storage and export preparation. The same sessions will open a two-way conversation on market expectations and possible further cooperation.<\/p>\n
The programme sits in the third year of Garden of Europe work in India. Across the year the campaign continues to reach consumers and food professionals through media, business meetings, events and digital channels, explaining European kiwi standards and nutritional value.<\/p>\n

Garden of Europe is a three-year project (2024\u20132027), co-funded by the European Union. It promotes European kiwis originating in Greece (and European apples originating in Poland) in India. The Greek partner is the Agricultural Cooperative of Neapoli Agrinio \u2013 AS Neapolis, based in the Agrinio region, which combines local growing conditions with modern packing and quality systems.<\/p>\n
