British billionaire and hedge fund manager Chris Rokos is moving his tax residency to Greece but plans to continue a major \u00a3175 million restoration project at his historic Wiltshire estate.<\/p>\n Rokos, one of Britain\u2019s highest individual taxpayers, has reportedly decided to retain Tottenham House near Marlborough despite leaving the UK, according to a report by The Telegraph.<\/p>\n The 55 year old financier is estimated to have a net worth of around $4 billion and manages more than \u00a315 billion through his hedge fund business.<\/p>\n The billionaire has been transforming the 18th century Tottenham House into a major family residence. The sprawling estate includes around 100 rooms and is being renovated through a series of ambitious projects.<\/p>\n Plans include a tennis pavilion, cinema room and solar farm, among other improvements.<\/p>\n The restoration is not expected to be completed until spring 2028.<\/p>\n A source close to the project said the work would continue as planned and that there were currently no plans to sell the property.<\/p>\n \u201cThe estate is not habitable at the moment,\u201d the source said, adding that Rokos still expects to spend significant time at the property once the restoration is complete.<\/p>\n The decision to retain the mansion could also leave open the possibility of Rokos spending more time in Britain in the future.<\/p>\n Rokos became one of the latest wealthy Britons to relocate abroad, with Greece reportedly becoming his new base.<\/p>\n His departure comes amid concerns among high earners and investors over the direction of UK tax policy and the prospect of further tax increases targeting wealthy individuals.<\/p>\n Despite changing his residency, Rokos appears to remain closely connected to Britain through his property holdings, business interests and philanthropic activities.<\/p>\n He is estimated to have paid more than \u00a3330 million in UK taxes last year, making him one of the country\u2019s biggest individual taxpayers.<\/p>\n That figure is equivalent to the combined tax contribution of thousands of average UK households.<\/p>\n Rokos has also maintained strong links with British institutions.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, he made a record \u00a3190 million donation to the University of Cambridge, funding the establishment of the Rokos School of Government.<\/p>\n His philanthropic activities have made him one of Britain\u2019s most significant private donors.<\/p>\n Tottenham House has a long history dating back centuries and was formerly associated with the Earl of Cardigan and the Savernake Estate.<\/p>\n The surrounding land was once part of a royal hunting forest and has historical connections to the Tudor period.<\/p>\n The family of Jane Seymour, the third wife of King Henry VIII, also lived in the area at Wolf Hall.<\/p>\n Rokos owns another historic English property, Mawley Hall in Shropshire, an 18th century Baroque country house that he purchased in 2018.
