The opening of an exhibition on the experience of the double Olympic organization of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games in Beijing was held on Monday evening at the Serafion of the City of Athens, giving the birthplace of the modern Olympic Games a taste of the twin experience of the Chinese capital.<\/p>\n
The exhibition of visual and cultural material from the 2008 Summer Games and the 2022 Winter Games, centered of course on the dazzling \u201cBird\u2019s Nest\u201d stadium, is entitled \u201cThe Cultural Legacy of the Beijing Double Olympic Games (2008, 2022)\u201d and will be open with free entry for the public in the building at 144 Piraeus Street until Thursday. The initiative and organization of the exhibition is the Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA).<\/p>\n
China\u2019s capital is the only city toate to d have hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics.<\/p>\n
The exhibition occupies 480 square meters and consists of three parts: \u201cThe Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Beijing Summer Olympics and the Beijing Winter Olympics\u201d, \u201cSymbols and Images of the Beijing Olympics\u201d and \u201cThe Design of the Stadiums and Facilities of the Beijing Double Olympic Games.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the organizers, the central aim of the exhibition is to allow its Greek visitors to experience traditional Chinese culture more directly. For this purpose, experts and artists on Chinese culture issues were invited, both from China and Greece, with the aim of presenting a variety of traditional arts such as paper cutting, Chinese embroidery, glass painting, shadow theater, traditional music and its instruments, martial arts and other forms of expression of traditional Chinese culture.<\/p>\n
Visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to participate in activities such as calligraphy, tea ceremony, paper cutting, paper painting on moving ink in water, and other traditional Chinese arts.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
