Traffic at Attica\u2019s ports is particularly heavy, with ferries heading mainly towards the Cyclades reporting occupancy rates approaching 100 percent.<\/p>\n
The Hellenic Coast Guard has increased measures at the ports to assist travellers and ensure smooth boarding and departures.<\/p>\n
According to advance bookings and figures from ferry operators, 25 sailings carrying 31,392 passengers are scheduled to depart Piraeus on Saturday. On Sunday, 23 departures are expected to carry 34,441 travellers.<\/p>\n
At Rafina, 14 sailings will operate on Saturday with 9,700 passengers, while 15 departures are scheduled for Sunday with 7,320 passengers.<\/p>\n
From Lavrio, eight sailings are scheduled for Saturday, carrying 3,628 passengers, while 11 departures are planned for Sunday with 3,167 travellers.<\/p>\n
Strong demand for Argosaronic islands<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n Traffic is also particularly heavy on routes to the Argosaronic islands.<\/p>\n A total of 54 high-speed passenger and passenger-car ferries are scheduled to operate from Piraeus on Saturday, with an estimated 11,701 passengers. On Sunday, the number of sailings will rise to 58, with approximately 9,270 travellers expected.<\/p>\n Overall, around 56,400 passengers are expected to depart from Piraeus, Rafina, Lavrio and the Argosaronic routes on Saturday, confirming that the August holiday exodus has reached its peak.<\/p>\n Heavy traffic also recorded on Friday<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n The ports were similarly busy on Friday.<\/p>\n Piraeus recorded 23 departures carrying 30,009 passengers, while 60 sailings to the Argosaronic islands carried 10,545 travellers.<\/p>\n At Rafina, 20 ferries departed with 10,304 passengers, while 12 vessels left Lavrio carrying 4,088 passengers.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n
