{"id":18756,"date":"2026-08-03T04:10:52","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T04:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/in-greece.com\/index.php\/2026\/08\/03\/flood-and-fire-victims-eligible-for-emergency-aid-up-to-e6000\/"},"modified":"2026-08-03T04:10:52","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T04:10:52","slug":"flood-and-fire-victims-eligible-for-emergency-aid-up-to-e6000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in-greece.com\/index.php\/2026\/08\/03\/flood-and-fire-victims-eligible-for-emergency-aid-up-to-e6000\/","title":{"rendered":"Flood and Fire Victims Eligible for Emergency Aid Up to \u20ac6,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-first=\"N\">\n<h3>Natural disaster victims can receive emergency payments of up to \u20ac600 and financial support of up to \u20ac6,000 for repairs or replacing household items, according to an announcement by Greek authorities.<\/h3>\n<p>Following a natural disaster, inspection teams from the General Directorate for the Restoration of Effects of Natural Disasters (G.D.A.E.F.K.) carry out assessments of buildings in affected areas.<\/p>\n<p>The engineering teams inspect damaged properties to determine whether they remain suitable for use, assess the extent of destruction and help authorities identify affected areas eligible for financial assistance.<\/p>\n<p>After authorities declare affected regions under a state of emergency and complete building inspections, eligible citizens can receive the following support:<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u20ac600 emergency living allowance<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Authorities provide a \u20ac600 first-needs allowance for affected primary residences.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Up to \u20ac6,000 for repairs and household replacement<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Residents with damaged primary homes can receive up to \u20ac6,000 for basic repair work and\/or replacing household equipment.<\/p>\n<p>For secondary residences, authorities reduce the amount by 50%.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Required documents for financial assistance<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Affected citizens must submit an application to their local municipality as soon as possible and within 45 days of the natural disaster.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must provide:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A copy of the G.D.A.E.F.K. inspection report for the damaged building.<\/li>\n<li>Tax forms E1 and E9 from the latest financial year.<\/li>\n<li>A family status certificate.<\/li>\n<li>For people with disabilities, a decision or certificate confirming disability benefits from OPEKA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Additional support after authorities define affected areas<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>After the government issues a Joint Ministerial Decision (K.Y.A.) officially defining the affected areas, authorities provide additional assistance:<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Temporary housing subsidy<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Citizens whose primary residence suffered damage can receive temporary accommodation support ranging from \u20ac300 to \u20ac500.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Free state assistance for rebuilding or repairs<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Authorities also provide housing assistance for repairing or reconstructing damaged buildings owned by individuals and businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The programme covers 100% of eligible costs through Free State Aid (D.K.A.).<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must submit requests to the relevant G.D.A.E.F.K. service.
