Greece has announced its eight-player Baseball5 squad for the sport\u2019s historic debut at the Mediterranean Games Taranto 2026, with competition set to begin on Wednesday, July 29 in Italy.<\/h3>\n

The Hellenic Baseball Softball Federation selected a balanced team of four women and four men to represent Greece in one of the Mediterranean region\u2019s premier multi-sport events.<\/p>\n

Head coach Stavros Spyrou, supported by executive Kostas Vogiatzakis, will lead the national team as Greece looks to establish itself on one of Baseball5\u2019s biggest international stages.<\/p>\n

Baseball5, the fast-paced urban version of baseball and softball, will make its first appearance at the Mediterranean Games, marking another significant milestone in the sport\u2019s rapid global growth.<\/p>\n

Currently ranked 49th in the WBSC Baseball5 World Rankings, Greece has limited international experience, having previously competed only at the 2022 U-17 Baseball5 European Championship, where it finished 10th among 14 teams.<\/p>\n

Efthimis Andritsopoulos, the only player returning from that U-17 squad, is expected to provide valuable leadership throughout the four-day tournament.<\/p>\n
