NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/strong> has hit back at online critics who questioned why he remains with his wife, Mariah, instead of pursuing a relationship with a model, saying the qualities he values most are honesty, loyalty and family.<\/p>\n

The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player and 10-time All-Star opened up about his marriage during an appearance on AnesTea The Podcast<\/em><\/a>, explaining why his relationship with Mariah means far more than outside opinions or social media comments.<\/p>\n

Giannis revealed that he has faced comments from trolls suggesting his fame and success meant he could be with multiple models.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve heard so many things. \u2018Why is Giannis with this wife? He could be with a model. Not one model but 10!\u2019 But I am with my wife because she tells me the truth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The NBA champion said Mariah\u2019s honesty and dedication to their family are the reasons he continues to admire her.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe loves me, she will tell me whenever I do anything wrong. She will tell my kids the truth. I know that she will do anything for my kids and she would even do anything for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Giannis added that he appreciates the way his wife keeps their children grounded.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that she won\u2019t let my kids get a big head, and that\u2019s the most important thing for me. I am in love. I am in love with her, as a woman and as a mother.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Giannis and Mariah first met during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in 2014, shortly after the Greek basketball star had entered the league.<\/p>\n

The Milwaukee Bucks legend said he immediately felt that Mariah was someone special.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew she would be my wife. I knew it immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The couple began spending more time together after reconnecting, with Giannis travelling to Miami to get to know her better. He said one of the moments that stood out was seeing Mariah build a relationship with his parents.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe started spending time with my mom and my dad while he was still alive. The moment I saw her, I knew she was the person I wanted to be with.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The couple married in Greece in 2024 and now share four children.<\/p>\n

New Chapter With Miami Heat<\/h2>\n

Giannis is also entering a new era of his basketball career after being traded to the Miami Heat<\/strong>, ending his historic run with the Milwaukee Bucks.<\/p>\n

The blockbuster trade saw Miami acquire Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis Jr., while Milwaukee received Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel\u2019el Ware, Kasparas Jakucionis and draft assets.<\/p>\n

During his time with Milwaukee, Giannis became the franchise leader in points, rebounds and assists, establishing himself as one of the greatest players in Bucks history.<\/p>\n

With his move to Miami and his continued success on the court, Giannis says his greatest support remains his family \u2014 especially the wife who has stood beside him throughout his journey from a young prospect to an NBA icon.<\/p>\n
