Kennedy Jr<\/strong>, should be made available through licensed compounding pharmacies.<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/advisory-committees\/human-drug-advisory-committees\/pharmacy-compounding-advisory-committee\"> <strong>Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee<\/strong><\/a> of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) meets on Thursday and Friday to review seven peptides currently marketed for muscle growth, anti-ageing, sleep, wound healing, weight loss and other uses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peptides \u2014 short chains of amino acids that occur naturally in the body \u2014 have moved from niche bodybuilding and biohacking circles into mainstream wellness culture. They are widely promoted by social media influencers and the \u201clooksmaxxing\u201d trend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kennedy has publicly stated he has used certain peptides with \u201creally good effect\u201d and argued that current restrictions have pushed consumers into an unregulated grey market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the compounds under review are <strong>BPC-157<\/strong>, <strong>TB-500<\/strong> and <strong>KPV<\/strong>, which are marketed for conditions including inflammation, ulcerative colitis, chronic pain, insomnia and opioid withdrawal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite soaring demand, FDA scientists have questioned the evidence supporting many of these peptides. Agency documents released ahead of the meeting state there is limited human clinical trial data on their safety and effectiveness, along with concerns about quality, stability and consistency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Industry groups counter that allowing licensed pharmacies to compound the peptides would improve quality control and reduce risks from unregulated suppliers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The makeup of the advisory committee has also drawn criticism. Seven of its 14 members reportedly have ties to businesses or clinics involved in peptide therapies.
