Keceli highlighted that the summit laid the groundwork for a \u201cnew era\u201d in which European allies would assume greater responsibilities.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-on-the-cyprus-issue\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">On the Cyprus Issue<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding Cyprus, the Turkish spokesman reiterated Ankara\u2019s long-standing position that the Greek Cypriot side bears responsibility for the deadlock in peace negotiations.
