The Pancretan Association of America (PAA)<\/strong> has announced its participation in the renovation and upgrading of the Chania Alzheimer Support Center<\/strong>, in collaboration with the \u201cSynanthropos\u201d Organization and with the support of the local community of Chania.<\/h4>\n
The project involves relocating the center to new, modern facilities within the grounds of the General Hospital of Chania \u201cSaint George.\u201d The renovation aims to create a functional, dignified, and welcoming environment for patients and their families dealing with Alzheimer\u2019s disease and other forms of dementia.<\/p>\n
The official blessing ceremony to mark the start of renovation works will take place on Tuesday, July 21, at 10:30 a.m.<\/strong>, officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Titos of Kydonia and Apokoronas. The event will be attended by representatives of the Pancretan Association of America, local government officials, hospital administration, and members of the \u201cSynanthropos\u201d Organization.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
This initiative is part of the PAA\u2019s broader philanthropic mission in Crete, which has supported numerous projects in healthcare, education, culture, and social welfare over many decades.<\/p>\n
Diane Kounalakis<\/strong>, President of the Pancretan Association of America, emphasized the personal and communal importance of the project:<\/p>\n

\u201cCaring for our fellow human beings who face serious health challenges is a fundamental responsibility. We are especially proud to collaborate with the \u2018Synanthropos\u2019 Organization in creating an upgraded facility that will provide dignity, safety, and high-quality services to patients and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Kounalakis also extended special thanks to the Pancretan Philanthropic Chair Bianca Pigounakis and her committee for successfully completing the fundraising efforts in the United States in record time. She noted that her own mother passed away from Alzheimer\u2019s, making the cause deeply personal to her.<\/p>\n
The Pancretan Association of America expressed gratitude to Metropolitan Titos of Kydonia and Apokoronas, Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum Sevi Voloudaki, the \u201cSynanthropos\u201d Organization, and all donors and supporters who contributed to this important initiative.<\/p>\n
The Chania Alzheimer Support Center provides critical services to patients and families across the region, and this upgrade is expected to significantly improve the quality of care offered.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
