Instead, Greece is expected to experience a typical midsummer warm spell, with the most intense heat affecting inland regions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to forecasts from <strong>meteo.gr<\/strong>, sunshine will dominate across most of the country on Saturday, although isolated afternoon showers or thunderstorms are possible over mountainous parts of Central Greece and the Peloponnese.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-regional-forecast\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Regional forecast<\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"h-attica\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Attica<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Highs of <strong>33\u201334\u00b0C<\/strong> are expected on Saturday, rising to around <strong>35\u00b0C<\/strong> on Sunday. Inland suburbs could be one or two degrees warmer.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-thessaloniki-and-central-macedonia\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thessaloniki and Central Macedonia<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mostly sunny conditions are forecast, with temperatures between <strong>33\u00b0C and 36\u00b0C<\/strong>, especially across inland districts.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-thessaly\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thessaly<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the hottest regions of the country, with temperatures reaching <strong>35\u201336\u00b0C<\/strong> on Saturday before climbing to <strong>37\u201338\u00b0C<\/strong> on Sunday.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-western-greece\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Western Greece<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coastal areas will see temperatures of <strong>33\u201335\u00b0C<\/strong>, while inland locations could reach <strong>38\u201339\u00b0C<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-epirus\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Epirus<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sunny weather will continue with daytime highs of <strong>33\u201334\u00b0C<\/strong>, while cooler overnight temperatures are expected, particularly in mountainous areas.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-peloponnese\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Peloponnese<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most areas will record <strong>32\u201335\u00b0C<\/strong>, although inland valleys will be significantly hotter. Localised afternoon showers or thunderstorms remain possible over higher terrain.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-crete\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Crete<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Northern coastal areas will experience <strong>29\u201332\u00b0C<\/strong>, while central and southern parts of the island could reach <strong>36\u201338\u00b0C<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-rhodes-and-the-dodecanese\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rhodes and the Dodecanese<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coastal temperatures will range from <strong>31\u201334\u00b0C<\/strong>, with warmer conditions inland.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-cyclades-and-aegean-islands\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cyclades and Aegean Islands<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Temperatures will remain more comfortable at <strong>28\u201332\u00b0C<\/strong>, although strong northerly winds will make conditions noticeably breezier.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-meltemi-winds-to-strengthen\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meltemi winds to strengthen<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seasonal <strong>meltemi winds<\/strong> will intensify across the Aegean over the weekend, reaching <strong>Force 5\u20136 on the Beaufort scale<\/strong> in several areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The strongest winds are expected across the central and southern Aegean on Saturday before expanding further on Sunday. Northerly winds may also strengthen over parts of the Ionian Sea.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-elevated-wildfire-danger\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elevated wildfire danger<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The combination of <strong>high temperatures, dry vegetation and strong winds<\/strong> is expected to significantly increase wildfire danger across many parts of Greece.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities are urging residents and visitors to avoid any activities that could ignite fires, including burning vegetation, lighting barbecues in vulnerable areas or using equipment capable of producing sparks near dry grassland.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-outlook-for-next-week\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Outlook for next week<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hot weather is expected to continue into early next week.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Monday:<\/strong> Temperatures will remain high, with around <strong>34\u00b0C in Athens and Thessaloniki<\/strong>, <strong>34\u201336\u00b0C in Thessaly<\/strong>, and up to <strong>38\u00b0C<\/strong> across inland western Greece.
